On May 10th, the Centre for Family Health Initiative (CFHI), through its Diabetes Awareness and Care (DAC) team, proudly participated in the Imo Youth Marathon – Running for Peace, organized by the Imo State Ministry of Youth and Talent Hunt, under the leadership of Hon. Dr. Mandela Emeka Ukaegbu.
Serving as the official health accreditation body for the event, CFHI conducted free blood sugar and blood pressure screenings for over 300 youth participants. As a result of these screenings, 24 individuals were referred to on-site doctors for further medical evaluation and advice.
The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Sen. Hope Uzodinma, the Permanent Secretary of the Imo State Ministry of Health, Dr. Okeji Austin, and renowned Nollywood actor Harry B Anyanwu (aka HarryB-Gbese Master), making it a truly impactful and inspiring day for the youth.
